作为一名科学家和发明家、韩博士拥有超过15年的工作经验。他的研究领域涵盖了广泛的科学和技术学科、包括物理、化学、材料、科学仪器仪表。

他是韩国全北大学化学系教授、并担任系主任一职。自2013年起、他还接任北卡罗莱纳州立大学的兼职教授 (North Carolina State University)。在此之前、他是康奈尔大学(Cornell University)、加州大学欧文分校(University of California Irvine)、和首尔国立大学博士后研究员 (Seoul National University)。他是一位作家或是同行评价期刊上发表过超100份研究论文的合著者。他的出版物涉及表面物理/化学、半导体器件、分子电子学、纳米技术、先进的有机/无机材料、储能材料、和生物传感器的主题。他是年轻的真空科学家奖(1999年)和青年研究学生奖学金(1995年)的获得者。
